(Steam) Xbox Controller bug with directional attacks on D-Pad

(Possible?) Bug with directional attacks on D-Pad

When customizing controls, I selected the option to have movement on the D-Pad instead of the left control stick. Movement works as intended; however, when trying to use directional attacks, they only work with the left stick instead of the d-pad as suggested by the instructions (see second image).
I play on Steam with an Xbox controller.

Game looks great! Looking forward to rest of it.
