I had the same problem, I wanted to play Split Fiction with my brother (I'm on PC, Steam, and he's on PS5), but I kept getting the dreaded error. I tried a million "miracle solutions," but nothing worked. Trying things on my own, I unlinked my Steam account from EA through the EA account manager, then from another EA game (in this case Apex Legends, since I was lucky enough to have it already installed), I logged into my EA account. After that, I closed Apex Legends and opened Split Fiction, and to my surprise, the **bleep** error was finally gone. If this helped you, please give me a like so people know this is the solution.
