Alright the game has been out for a week now, longer if you count the EA early access period.
It's well understood I believe that the issue is related to the license for the content not registering properly, not really on the users end of things.
In my case I pre-ordered the Karakuri Edition for Xbox months ago, and in this case seem to be punished for pre-ordering with problems being able to even use what I paid for.
I believe every user who pre-ordered the Karakuri Edition on the Xbox platform is currently unable to use or access their content, probably at least in the US/NA region which is where my account is - but perhaps globally as well for Xbox.
The issue may also extend to users who purchase the Karakuri Upgrade.
I'm not entirely sure here as this is a theory, but sometimes a preorder version of the game has a different SKU compared to the non-preordered regular editions after, and sometimes I've seen developers not account for the pre-ordered SKUs to have their license granted because it's different than the regular version, and sometimes gets overlooked.
Either way at this point I don't believe any sort of troubleshooting will do us any good on the users end of things, I'm expecting that there will be no resolution until there's either a backend change on EAs side, something with the Xbox licensings adjusted, or a title update issued. No DNS flushing, rebooting, etc is going to do us any good at the very least until an actual update is issued for us to ensure that we've cleanly restarted our devices.
Unfortunately this whole situation has put a bad taste in my mouth regarding the game and my interest in playing it as well, instead of just playing the game and kicking back I've been having to spend time troubleshooting, reading, and digging online to figure out what went wrong here and I'm a bit surprised that it still isn't resolved and I'm not sure why. At least in my point of view, it feels like if this was happening to everyone perhaps the issue would get more traction, but because it's just a subset of Xbox users that maybe it doesn't matter.
Anyways, at this point I'm not necessarily going to play or check the game until I see a Title Update on my Xbox dashboard, or perhaps I see mentions of a fix on the subreddit.
Best of luck and shout out to the developers who are working behind the scenes in figuring this one out, I understand that stuff is complicated. It doesn't mean that as an end user I'm not a little bit frustrated though.
