Accidentally bought an Eaplay yearly subscription twice, how can I get a refund?

I bought an EAplay yearly subscription for PS5 twice by accident (I thought the first time didn’t go through properly) and I have been charged for 2 years of the service, I have cancelled but the only thing it says is that my subscription expires in 2028, I would like a refund, I haven’t used the service and I cancelled the subscription within minutes of getting it after realizing what had happened.

  • Hi there,

Thanks for posting and explaining what happened -- that’s an easy mistake to make, especially if the first purchase didn’t appear to go through.

Since this EA Play subscription was purchased on PS5, the important thing to know is that all PlayStation Store purchases (including EA Play) are billed and refunded by Sony, not EA. Even though the subscription shows on your EA account, EA Community and EA Help don’t have access to PlayStation billing or refund tools.

Since you cancelled immediately and haven’t used the service, your best next step is to contact PlayStation Support directly and request a refund for the duplicate charge.

Here are the official PlayStation links you’ll want to use:

When you contact them, explain that:

    • You accidentally purchased two EA Play yearly subscriptions
    • The duplicate was cancelled within minutes
    • The service wasn’t used
    • Your subscription now shows an expiration in 2028 due to the double purchase

PlayStation Support can review the transaction and confirm whether the duplicate purchase is eligible for a refund under their policy.

If you have questions about how EA Play works or what you’re seeing on the EA side of the account, feel free to ask here, and the community can help clarify.

Hope this gets sorted quickly for you.
