Can’t unlink EA account

I’ve contacted support through chat and they told me I should post here.

my gamer tag is tied to an EA account which has an old email address on it which was hacked and that I no longer have access to (happened a couple of years ago)

I’ve created a new EA account which I want to now link to my Xbox account but this doesn’t seem to be possible.

What am I supposed to do? I’ve bought Fifa 22 a couple of weeks ago and haven’t managed to play it yet because of this issue.

Sorry to say @qeo4ophd8i17 but there is nothing that we can do to assist with issues such as this here on AHQ.

We simply cannot look at any account issues or anything that requires account verification. Did the team ask you to raise a bug report here?

If you cannot verify account ownership then there is nothing our team can do to grant you access to or make changes to an account.

You can contact our live support at help.ea.com.

To  speak with a phone or chat adviser:

    Click on your product Origin

    Then select 'PC

    Manage my Account'

    Can't log in

Finally, you can choose to begin a chat or call

  • I have contacted them twice and both times been told to post here. I told them it made no sense as they are surely the ones with more capabilities to make changes to my account. I wish I could just get a refund for Fifa and never use an EA product ever again.

    SOLUTION:

I had the same problem. Fully explained in this thread verified by EA AHQ staff, online support is useless and cant help. Did this only the other day so I know it works.

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/EA-General-Questions/Unlinking-Dormant-deleted-Account-from-Xbox-without-o...

Basically you need to contact EA's Data Protection Officer (Links and explanation in thread linked above). From there they will verify you via Xbox live by sending you a message from their test machine with a verification code, you email it back and they then reset the account unlinking it from your Xbox account, allowing you free to add a new one. Same goes for PSN.

Took me 2 days to get an email response then it was sorted within a couple of hours.
