Cannot purchase Ea Play Membership

Hi

I purchased the ea play membership earlier today, usually this is instant (when I used to use origin) and I get instant access to the games.

However this payment has been sitting as pending all day in my ea account. Paypal say they are waiting on EA to confirm the payment, yet EA say they are waiting on Paypal to confirm the payment (via the ea account help icon). I am based in the UK if that makes a difference.

Looks like this is sitting in limbo for some reason. Not really sure why though

Do you reckon I'll get a refund if I purchase the membership again using a different payment method?

Also I have to say it is very frustrating that there is no way to directly contact support via email and even though there is an option to raise a case - there isn't an option to do so for issues with your account. Even though there is mention of this being a possibility on the help page, just constantly redirected to posting a question on the forum instead.

So if this is not the right place to post this issue, if you could direct me to their contact details so I can raise a case that would be great please

**EDIT** - finally figured out how to raise a case (not very obvious at all), still frustrating that this may now take a few days to even get a response before a resolution may be offered..

    Hey @MrSlick9 if it says pending then best to speak with PayPal support as pending means something on the other end is causing the issue.

    I have since got in contact with paypal and they have now insisted that this is an issue from EA's side

    "...From reviewing your account, I can see that the status of your order is 'Pending'. This means that your order has been received by the merchant, but your payment has not yet been processed. Usually the merchants keep the order in Pending when they want to verify the item availability before accepting the payment..."

    This sounds like EA are manually reviewing the payment or something as i'm sure the EA play is a digital product so always available? I only ask as my friends purchased this via their playstation and their access was immediate, whereas its nearly been 24hrs for me and will most likely be even longer

    Tested it myself @MrSlick9 and it was right away, from all you've shared it sounds and looks like something on the Paypal side.

    You can speak with our live support team to see what they can recommend.

    You can contact our live support at help.ea.com.  

    To  speak with a chat adviser:

    Click on your product EA app

    Then select 'PC

    Manage my Account'

    Finally, you can choose to begin a chat

  • Yeah thought as much, thanks for your assistance in any case

    I checked my EA account again and it has now come back as failed (still showing as pending in paypal oddly enough), so I just directly paid for it using a credit card instead of using paypal and it has worked instantly
