Fight night on xboxseries s unable to sign into xbox live

When attempting to play Fight Night Champion on my Xbox Series S it won’t let me sign in with my profile. It says “you must be signed in to Xbox Live and the EA servers in order to access the online features of this title” 

That wouldn’t be an issue if it didn’t prevented me from playing Champion Mode or Legacy Mode. I tried signing into my EA account on the Microsoft Edge app on my Xbox and on my phone as well but it doesn’t change anything. At a loss here and everything I look up comes to no avail.. Would like some official help if possible.
