Linking A New Xbox Account
Okay,
So I have recently tried linking my current Xbox account with PC game pass to my EA play account to access the new games just added. I was unable to do so because my EA account is linked with an old Xbox account I used back with the 360. I unlinked my old Xbox account thinking I'd be able to link my new current Xbox account but apparently, only one account can be linked for the lifetime of the EA account. So, I cannot link my New Xbox account with my current EA account. I've talked with EA support three times and they cannot do anything. Thus, I'm screwed out of playing any Xbox PC pass games that require EA play. Could I possibly create a new EA account... Link it to my current Xbox account... Then link this new EA account with my old one? Would that work? Anybody have any other ideas or has EA just screwed me over as usual?
I don't believe you can combine Xbox accounts and I have even tried gaining access to my old account but I don't have access to the old email but might be able to get access but I'd have to jump through a ton of hoops. Since I've also unlinked the account already I do not know if combining the accounts would help.
Here is the error message for those interested:
Your accounts can’t be linked because the EA Account for (my email address) was previously linked to the Xbox account for (Old Xbox Gamer Tag Name). An EA Account can only be linked to one Xbox account in its lifetime.

Hi there!
You are not alone in this ordeal.
There are a lot of people with this same issue.
Mostly people like you, who had linked their EA and Xbox accounts ages ago (back in the xbox 360 days) and now cannot change the Xbox account linked to their EA account.
It is indeed impossible as of now. Please see this mega thread about this issue and feel free to chime in. The more the merrier 🙂 : https://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin-Client-Web-Technical/EA-account-linking-to-a-new-Xbox-Account/td-p/...
Good luck, and hopefully we'll see a solution soon.
