@Vertutame That is incorrect. It has nothing to do with paying twice.
@Paulnoah5407 If you have Game Pass Ultimate, it does include EA Play for Xbox yes. When you open up the game or try to install a game and it asks you to purchase it, typically is it because the Xbox account you are on isn't not linked to the right EA account, or there is a sync issue.
Log into EA.com with your EA account. Go into the connections tab and make sure the right Gamertag is linked. If not, check out the Unlink a platform article it will provide you with all the steps to resolve that part.
If the correct accounts are linked, try the following steps:
- Close the EA app.
- navigate to the Xbox app
- Go to settings (click your name top left corner)
- Select "extensions"
- Disable the extension for the EA App
- Locate the game you want to download on the Xbox app
- You'll notice that the install selection has now gone away and been replaced by an option asking you to "enable extension"
- Enable the EA app extension
- The Xbox app should then launch the EA app automatically
- Once you see the EA app open, you should now be allowed to select an SSD/HDD to install the game

@Paulnoah5407 @Vertutame Are you still having issues with the Xbox App and Game Pass and installing or playing games?
I am having the same issue and multiple other people are reporting it on various social media platforms. Seems there is a break in the connection between Game Pass and EA play.
lot of minimsing going on here for an issue thats been raised across multple tickets by various people. Unable to install games, messages saying trials have endeds upgrade to pro despite showing membership of EA play required for the game, in the very app..games removed from liabarys, get yourself together and investigate
What might help you is anything with an active trial left seems downloadable, anything without a trial or trial expired is not
EA_Shepard LOL Just Gaslight us all, into thinking it's our fault!
Great Technical support from the community team!!!
Have you read all the posts on the other forums and reddit??how typical, EA yet again not saying anything after everyone has the same problem, little problems nah we can fix those, big major problems: not doing anything ever
They have said that its a widespread issue effecting the service. They didn't know that at the time. Please explain how they are supposed to fix a bug they didn't know was going to exist? Its a glitch, they are responding. Everyone needs to calm down and stop acting like the sky is falling.

Hi all,
Please keep this thread on topic.
There was indeed a temporary outage in relation to the Microsoft services that affected the XGPU x EA Play services, which is/was being discussed here: RESOLVED Outage Apr. 30 - May 1, 2024. "There's a Problem With Your Download" or "Something Went Wrong" Error in EA app., and here: RESOLVED Outage Apr. 30 - May 1, 2024. "You Don't Have Access" Error in EA app. Both of these have been resolved.
If you're still experiencing the error, I would recommend reporting it in those threads.
Thanks.
Those 2 threads are for specific errors. I'm not getting an error. I click on "install" in the xbox app and that opens up EA app and it wants to buy EA Play even though I have Ultimate game pass. I've tried signing out of both apps, unlinking and linking xbox account to EA, EA app recovery. Nothing is working. I don't have access to EA Play from my game pass
