Trial Expired on Gold edition

Hi all

PC Steam

I bought Gold edition of BF2024 while only 2hrs into the trial. after trial expired when i load up the game through steam it would give me the Trial expired message.

but on clicking play second time while origin is loaded in background i would be able to go into the game and continue.

so yesterday after playing least 20hrs i decided to uninstall the game on steam. and i used Origin to reinstall it making sure i clicked the Gold edition.

it seemed to work few times. but today it is doing the same thing giving me the trial expired message but working when i click on play again while origin is loaded up...

so seems steam still has it hardwired in it is trial before origin loads up and syncs it to full gold edition game..

love to know how to solve this thank you.

PS i can just load up origin and press play but kind of find it convenient to use steam since it is my go to platform for most games..

    Hi @poida84,

That is a strange one, so you played the Trial of BF2042 and then downloaded and installed the full game, but it keeps saying that the trial has been expired.

    • You can try removing the BF2042 trial if it still appears in Origin.
    • Be sure to clear Origin's cache afterwards and try again.

If you're still receiving the same error message when you performed the above steps, then it might be time to reach out to our support team for them to have a look at your account.

  • Happening to me as well Jason, this is a common issue in Steam Discussion forums for 2042. It's also happening to my friend I play with. Our trial periods have long gone, but when launching the game through Steam, it boots up Origin, attempts to launch the game, and the same error occurs every time, "Can't load the game, trial period has expired". However, if we press play again for a second time through Steam, it will load the game just fine. It's happening to a lot of people, it would be insanely appreciated if this was fixed, it's incredibly obnoxious. I've tried removing the Trial, uninstalling 2042, reinstalling Gold Edition, etc., as well, nothing seems to work.

Also, please add vehicle damage assists back into Battlefield! Using up all of our ammunition for someone to 1 shot the tank or vehicle and get all of the points/glory while we get nothing truly sucks. Cheers
