Graphical corruption caused by broken volemtric fog still present in the 1.09 patch.

I have the same issue around everything that moves. hands, halo, cars in front. Still not fixed after patch today, its still under investigation. Maybe it will be too difficult to fix.

Its a bug on every platform and is related to night lighting and volumetric fog, bit of a joke they still haven't fixed it by now given it makes driving at night a joyless experience.

Yeah same problem here. I'm on PC (Windows 10) running an RTX 3060 with the latest drivers. I've tried every single combination of graphic/video settings (including trying to brute force disable everything in the config file) and nothing helps.
I've already posted this video on another thread, but here it is again so that (hopefully) someone at EA/Codemasters sees it:-

You can see the pixellation and blurring around the halo and front aerial, basically anything moving quickly leaves a ghostly trail. There's also some kind of weird adaptive brightness thing going on in the sky when I toggle between the rear and front views.
It makes night/dusk races unplayable because of how nauseating it is. Which is a joke considering how much of a point they've made about adding accessibility options for colour blind users, as well as the new audio options in this version for sufferers of tinnitus. Meanwhile their own broken graphics are inducing motion sickness!

This has been broken across all platforms since the game launched. The only way I've found (aside from file editing on PC) to do night races that don't look like someone smeared snot all over the halo, is to race in TV Pod view. It sucks, but at least I don't have to look at the giant blocky pixel crap.

i am having an issue like this also. tt is fine, but in grand prix race mode i play in the * pit and i have not raced every track yet but i am seeing bad halo glass like look as well as pixulated graphics on some tracks, Bahrain and Quatar are deffo very bad.

I have same issue on pc. Don't want to remove the entire graphical atmosphete just to fix pixelation issue. Hoping for a fix soon!

@ivun3 Since the 1.08 patch this workaround does indeed now work. It didn't before, I suspect some of the settings weren't actually doing anything or they were getting immediately over-ridden once you restarted the game.

To disable it open your hardware_settings_config.xml file, find the "lighting" data and set volumetricFog to "false".

I'm still hoping they fix it because it's a shame you lose all the atmospheric effects. And obviously this workaround is no good for PS5 users.

This is NOT just a night issue. The HALO model appears to be bugged, period. Check this screenshot from a benchmark at Canada (day).
It clearly is not smooth along the edges. (This is the PC version.)
