@SteveJackson I understand your concern about this. You should only do this for files that you're confident are safe. Adding an exclusion for an unsafe program could expose your systems and data to increased risk.

With that in mind, we would never ask you to do that if we believe this could harm your device in any way.

Third party AV is not required in Windows. Disabling core functionality is NOT REQUIRED. This is NOT THE SOLUTION.

I run Microsoft AV/AM (Defender) to my knowledge, a Defender exception has NEVER been required to run this game.

Part of your position suggests or infers that the EA Anti-Cheat IS the problem. Not a good look. Gamers don’t like it. All you do with these measures is annoy LEGIT CUSTOMERS.

It does not prevent piracy. It does not defeat cheats who use game hacks. So it’s a lose-lose position. 

Please feed this up the chain to the “don’t cares”. You’re haemorrhaging customers and losing fans.

Done everyhing i and the ea support, and community can think of, exempt reinstalling windows. 
Been playing for over 40 hrs right after launch but now, nothing.

Summarize your bug There is 100% a issue with anticheat 12.12.2024 update that is causing all this freezing and microlags. All I want to know is if team is aware of it and if the solution with AC update is somehow close.
What is your 16 digit Report Code? AXTX-EABB-CSTX-DKVE
What peripherals are you using? Please list the exact make and model. Not my issue, but it is affecting 50% player base on PC
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider? Doesn't matter
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Multiplayer
Did you have cross-play enabled? No
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It's only on some machines but it's random who gets it
What happens when the bug occurs? Freezing, microlags. Freezing.for 2 or more second, random
What do you expect to see? Info about team being aware that it is EA anticheat issue and when will be the game playable again

I have the same exat issue. at times it does this and at other (75% of the time) it crashes the game with the error in event viewer Failed to obtain origin directory For the EAAntCheat Service

Hello, It's nice to know that I'm not the only one having the exact same issue as everyone else. You spend money and time on these games to all of a sudden try and load them up for it to fail. Note: This isn't just battlefield, I tried with another game also which gives the same error!

I've attempted so many fixes which include:
- Updating Windows.
- Update Graphic Drivers.
- Reinstalling EA Anti-cheat FULLY.
- Reinstalling EA Anti-cheat game specific.
- Reinstalling the game.
- Verifying game files of the game.
- Adding the game, EA Anti-cheat and EA App as an exclusion on Windows Defender.
- Restarting my computer.
- Running EVERYTHIG in admin. EA Anti-cheat, EA App and the game.
- Attempted to run game through EA App instead of Steam.
- Deleting everything relating to EA Anti Cheat then re-installing from the website.

None of which has fixed the issue that everyone else is having. I've looked at so many different reddit posts and so many different EA forum posts.

Does anyone have something else to add to this topic? or a possible fix? Thank you!
