Tire Smoke under Braking - impossible to see

@EA_Vendcera please can this be passed on, there have been a few threads on it. It's a game breaking bug that affects league racing, online racing, etc. It's an unrealistic blast of smoke every time the car in front of you brakes.

Summarize your bug Large plume of white smoke every time cars in front of you brake for a corner. This is highly unrealistic for one, but it also affects every driver behind as you are blinded through the apex and your braking points.
What is your 16 digit Report Code? N/A

What peripherals are you using? Please list the exact make and model. Irrelevant, as it's not a peripheral issue.
Can you please provide the name of your current internet service provider? TELUS
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Multiplayer
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Any online Lobby or league race. It might be a bug when ABS is off, essentially it thinks every car braking is locking up, and it's giving an unrealistic overblown effect of Tire smoke. This is causing so much issues in races, as drivers cannot see the braking points, or the corner apex. It also causes the game to lag.
What happens when the bug occurs? Drivers are blinded, can't see and the game lags.
What do you expect to see? There should be no smoke when a car brakes, it feels arcade like when this happens. In real F1 if a driver ACTUALLY locks up, you will often see a tiny bit of smoke that is just at their own tires, this smoke does not cover up half the cars behind them and blind them through a corner.

@Dismal_Games No worries, I know it's quite a frustrating issue and can definitely impact visibility quite a bit. I hope we'll get a fix for this out soon.

the problem already existed in the last game, has it still not been solved?

I remember that last year you could get around the problem by switching off the smoke completely in the hardware_settings_config.xml, but then you don't have any smoke in the game and of course that only works on the PC

Kindly support us in solving this issue. I am currently playing in cockpit cam and i cannot follow the cars in front because of the smoke - basically cannot see the braking markers and apexes. I have this issue on PS5 console - so no option to remove the smoke.

Hi @EA_Vendcera, any news on this?
I would say it should have top priority, a lot of corners are impossible now when racing, visibility is close to 0 sometimes.
It also affects replays, there is a very pixelated and low quality cloud of smoke on hard braking corners and when the race starts, looks embarrassing.

This needs to be top priority, it affected my last two races getting wing damage because I cannot see a foot in front of me with all this unrealistic smoke.

Just had a league race on Monza, it’s absolutely impossible to see T4-5.. there is genuinely a cloud of pixelated smoke appearing in front you covering the whole track, you have no idea where you are before and during the corner.. I’m on PS5 and can’t disable the smoke, another race track that is impossible to race on, something needs to be done about this asap please

Hi, is this still being investigated at least? It’s been more than 2 patches and no changes.. some tracks are still unplayable online on console.. I see “community-raised issues” is no longer updated apart from patch releases, so what is going on? Why is there no communication at all?
