I only learned this year. Never pre-order EA games. Get them cheaper when they're 50% off in advance. They release unfinished games with lots of bugs.
I said that last year but the MyTeam overhaul caught me. They’ll have to give me everything I want in the game next year to tempt me to pre-order again.
I've pre-ordered since F121 but I also will not be doing that again. There are just way too many errors along with significant enough issues that have to be patched all the time. I'm aware that patches are needed for games these days. But when the basic fundamentals are so way off the mark like wet weather, controller tyre wear and the like, I'm just not prepared to pay top price for something that's not playable. I'd rather wait a few months until it's both playable and offers good value for money.
For me Codemasters need to refocus their priorities on ensuring the game is good from the start with such high importance things like, wet weather, handling and AI. Then look at other stuff. But get the basics right first.
The 15% loyalty pre-order discount no longer feels enough to put up with the bugs, the lack of options for getting around them not to mention the approach they take to store item designs. The extra pitcoins are still sitting there.
