How do I get race engineer audio to work?

Been playing F1 for a few years now but never came across this issue.

Since I got F1 25, I can't hear any race engineer audio, oor any of the AI characters audio when they're talking, like in Career mode for example.

I checked all settings and audio is on. Captions are on, so I can see someone is talking but can't get the audio for it.

Please help, this is a big issue during races not being able to hear my race engineer.

If anyone can assist, that would be super appreciated.

I can't seem to figure it out and it makes races a lot less fun.

  • I had the same issues, even in Breaking Point just couldn't hear any of the characters voices.

Fix for me was to change a couple of settings on my tv and PS5 PRO

On the TV (LG CX OLED) in the sound settings i changed from Bitstresm to PCM.

On the PS5 PRO in the sound settings i changed from Dolby Atmos to PCM

    Hopefully this helps.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Those settings do not sound familiar to me at all lol, but I'll see if I can find something similar.

  • On the PS5/PRO go to

Settings>Sound>Audio Format, scroll to the bottom and select Audio Format>Linear PCM.

Cant help with settings on your TV/Monitor.

Hmm... In the audio settings on the PS5, there is no "Audio Format" or anywhere where I can select Linear PC.

Dude, you need to look at the TV menu and the console settings. This isn't game support, this is basic RTFM.

    Can't say I agree.

If I had zero audio altogether, I'd agree. But considering audio works everywhere in this game, except for when someone is speaking AND I have that specific setting turned ON in game, I don't see any world where this is a "basic" issue. The way I have it setup , it IS basic, and it should work, not sure how you'd think otherwise. To take it a step further, all the years I've played F1 games, I've never had this issue until '25, so again, nothing basic about this like you're stating.

I've been gaming for 40 years, have probably 10 streaming devices in my house. This isn't my first time with stuff like this. This is a very random issue.

To your question that is supposedly "basic", what would possibly be the intuitive thing I should know to go to in my TV settings to allow me to hear my race engineer audio when I can hear ALL other audio in game?
