But it will be way more harder to mimic the ers since its the power unit that handles deployment and harvesting now, not the drivers. Drivers only get to enable boost & overtake, so it will be way harder for devs to code it in the game unless the actual f1 teams help them out to get the general sense of the PUs
So basically the actual teams have an unique algorithm encoded in the PU specific for each and every track, as when and how much to recharge/harvest and deploy the battery throughout the lap during the race and qualy.
So I guess codies will also have to add another section in car set up for ERS harvesting & deployment plan, for us to set, control & customize the amount of battery deployed and recharged throughout corners and straight of each sectors of the tracks.
I hope they also let us keep/save multiple ERS plans per track just like FIFA where you can change formations from switching from balanced to attack, ultra attack or park the bus etc allowing us to maximize and benefit from the new regulations

I agree, but given that 2026 is just a DLC rather than a new game they're limited in what can realistically be changed in the game engine so I was just making some suggestions as to what I thought they might do to imitate the regulations. Granted since it's taking much longer than what most people expected it's possible they're reworking the engine more than I thought they would.

That was the original plan as mentioned by one of the lead devs in a Q&A session from a year or two ago, but that was obviously before the change. I have no idea if they still plan to include that in the DLC or if it's been moved out to 2027.
