Hello everyone,
I moved some posts in here since you all are providing feedback regarding the AI being too fast on the straights.
We are currently looking for exemples where it is obvious the AI is too fast so if you could share a video showing that, I would pass it on to the team.
Thank you in advance.
- @EA_rephii I can not record but I can explain a very revealing experience of the problem. I test on PC with the joystick at 80 difficulty with all the aids at baku, 2nd corners, on the car in front of me I go from +0.200 to +0.600 in not even a second when exiting the bend, same for the car behind I go from -0.900 to 0.500, depending on the length of the straight line seen that the AI has a crazy acceleration the car behind me will end up next to me, while me with DRS + ERS I barely get back on the car behind in front of +0.600 to 0.400 (in the best case) even if I have a Ferrari and in front of me I have an Aston.
And the worst is when the car in front or behind is my teammate, I feel like I'm not driving the same car as him Here is an example of how OP the AI seem to be out of slow corners and onto long straights. Ocon was 0.8 seconds behind at the start of the straight and passed him by the end of it. https://youtu.be/ZJA73JKlmjE?t=350 At around 5:50 in this video

@VemundVemundSeems to me like rubberbanding.. Even ERS and slipstream dont cause such a swing of speed advantage
And yes its not rubberbanding because it keeps going on even when they are past him but what i try to say is its not a physics thing theres genuinely something going wrong
Correction: Might also be for some reason horrendously bad drag values for the MyTeam car, need more esports vids with low downforce setups in normal cars to say more but thats really extreme
Yes, the video of Jarno Opmeer in Miami really demonstrates what we are talking about. The AI is breezing past, not just faster. If they would gain a bit that's one thing, but they really come flying past me even before DRS is even activated.
But it's not like it happens to me every race and every track. Last week at Jeddah I was quite close to the pace of the AI on the straights. Not sure what's going on, but it's really weird. At Bahrain I literally stopped racing after a few attempts as my rear wing level was locked and I just couldn't come close to the AI on the straights, even though I was faster in the twisty bits.
- @VemundVemund I had the exact same experience shown here on Xbox Series X using a pad. It seemed to start happening after I changed the difficulty settings and the AI straight line performance is now like this regardless of which difficulty level I choose. They are crazy fast all the time.

Have not followed Jarno's series, but MyTeam is not the best example, if we do not know is engine or other details of the car. Alpine seems to be better car atleast, but it was only the overall and no details of aero, engine or chassis.
- @gizt7 It's the same problem if you are racing against your teammate in the exact same car as well. So for sure a problem with the AI
- @VemundVemund Well, I have not noticed this in my first 7 races in MyTeam...
Here's what I'm seeing in a Solo Grand Prix. Note the AI are set to a difficulty of 1 😃
