F1 24 Game Ideas

Hi,

Below is a list of game ideas for F1 24. It’s probably too late to be giving the developers ideas for F1 23, because they’re three quarters of the way through developing the game (because of how the development team is split into two, so they’ve been working on the game since around when F1 2021 came out). Please let us know what you think, and what you would add to this list. If we can get the developers to take a really good look at things like this, hopefully we’ll see some cool things coming to the new F1 games!

F1 24 Game Ideas:

Safety car needs to be deployed more often when there’s a mechanical failure for an AI car (especially with increased safety car on)

Races should be able to finish under SC

Red flags (could use similar coding from end of sprint race to start of main Grand Prix but add in tyre/front-wing/bodywork changes)

The option to choose whether or not your team repairs bodywork damage when in qualifying/practice

The ability to undo an engine replacement mid qualifying/practice

Ability to serve a 2, 3 or 10 second time penalty at a pit-stop

Ability to create a customised season calendar after season 1 of career mode (due to licensing issues, but after S1, should be fine just like adding Shanghai and Portimao?)

Create your own engine in MyTeam career mode + supply engine to other teams

Option to manage facilities for real teams in driver career mode

Ability to influence AI teammate’s strategy

Larger pool of drivers to be able to sign in MyTeam career mode (e.g. Reserve driver from other teams, W-Series drivers, Formula E drivers)

Ability to sign a third/reserve driver in your MyTeam career mode team

DLC tracks like Malaysia, Hockenheim, Nurburgring, Istanbul etc. available in career mode from after season 1

Crossplay in Online Ranked

More game modes similar to the Elimination event (e.g. Hide and seek + tag, Last driver standing, etc.)

Improved damage physics… wheels can break off when car is sliding perpendicular to the track and hits the wall with front wing, where minimal force actually goes through the suspension

Improved visual damage (e.g. visual rear wing damage, etc.)

A larger R&D system which allows for development to continue into later seasons

AI to back out less when overtaking of being overtaken

Improved physics so that when player car and AI collide, the two cars don’t glue together and slow down

Improve AI so that they don’t turn in on player car when going down the inside

Ability to change front wing without also changing tyres at a pit-stop

Bring back sector-by-sector delta splits in races

Team orders whereby you can ask your team to ask your teammate to let you pass or vice versa

MyTeam Two player career mode (both players get to create their own team OR create just one team together)

Livery editor

Ability to share your own liveries and download other peoples’ liveries

Ability to choose size and position of specific sponsors on the MyTeam car

Visual changes to car’s appearance in career mode as a result of certain upgrades

Different shaped front-wings, side-pods, and rear-wing options to choose from for the MyTeam car

The option to manually drive through the pit lane, and in and out of the pit box

Pit-lane starts

Starts under the safety car (in the case of heavy rain, etc.)

Localised weather (e.g. rain begins falling on one specific part of the track, and then gradually moves over and rains over the whole track - some parts of the track are ready for inters conditions whilst others are totally dry, like in the 2021 Russian GP)

Instead of rain always starting out light and then gradually building, the conditions should be able to go from overcast to torrential rain in seconds, causing a sudden move to the wet tyres, or vice versa

Teams’ garages move from season to season based on the constructors’ championship results from the previous season

Option to do Pre-Season testing in Bahrain (opportunity for resource points to be earned - there could even be the option to do just a larger version of quick practice for pre-season testing)

Ability to sign drivers who retire after seasons during the career mode (e.g. Daniel Ricciardo, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso)

Ability to sign multi-year contracts with certain clauses in them (e.g. team must finish atleast 5th in the constructors’ championship, or the team’s durability must rank atleast 3rd by the end of the season, etc.)

Ability to park the car yourself when retiring from the session without the AI driver driving somewhere else

Ability to pit on the formation lap

Ability to start on wet weather tyres when rain is imminent at start of race or vice versa

Ability to sign for an academy system (Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes, Alpine, McLaren) without having to do the F2 career mode

When an R&D regulation change hits, there could be a chance that when you adapt an upgrade, the adapting can fail instead of being guaranteed to be successful

Additional driver rating categories on top of Pace, Awareness, Racecraft, Experience and Focus - for example, there could be: Teammate relationship, Aggression, or even Patience (which don’t have to contribute to the driver’s overall rating, but can still effect the way they drive on track)

Consequences for taking new engine parts (e.g. if you take an extra ICE outside of the allocated 3 per season, in MyTeam, you must pay an extra  300k for the part)

Fixed braking line on entry to pit-lane

Different car reveal options to choose from/customise at the beginning of the season

Ability to choose date of car reveal in MyTeam career mode

Resource point cost cap (e.g. all teams can spend a maximum of 25,000 resource points per season, OR the team who finishes last in the constructors’ championship can spend up to 30,000 points per season, all the way to the team who finished first can spend up to 12,000 points per season - just example values)

Regulation change voting system where your team can vote for or against a proposed regulation change (e.g. different points system, more allocated engines per season, resource point cost cap changes, etc.)

Ability to move to another team in MyTeam career mode

Cool down laps after races (ability to drive back to pit-lane area after race or drive to the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place board) just for single player

Mechanics and pit crew leaning over the fence to celebrate their driver winning the race

Customisable wheel rims in MyTeam career mode

Risk of some upgrades negatively affecting the car for short amount of time

Ability to undo/take off upgrades from the car if they don’t work well

Ability to apply engine supplier logos to MyTeam car

Ability to do Co-Op Career Mode with more than two players

Option for more realistic driver transfers (e.g. Tsunoda more likely to move to Red Bull, or De Vries to Mercedes, etc. Instead of Stroll leaving Aston Martin and going to Haas or Latifi going to Red Bull)

Option to have in-race incidents put ‘under investigation’ by the FIA, and a few laps later receive confirmation of the penalty

Introduction of more driver perks options (e.g. Sponsorships - increases chance of renewing contracts/signing new ones)

Teams should be able to double stack both drivers without having a ~5 second wait time for the pit-crew to get ready for the second car (5 seconds after the first car leaves the pit box)

When fast-forwarding mid-session when offline, the other drivers should not speed up by around 1 second per lap

Inability to fuel save (due to incorrect measurement of fuel needed for one lap being incorrect) needs to be fixed

Ability to go slightly bankrupt in MyTeam career mode

More facility upgrade options for all departments in both MyTeam career mode and Driver career mode

Option for more realistic, very poor visibility in heavy rain conditions

Ability to make changes to the driver lineups for all teams at the start of a career mode

Ability to hire team principals in MyTeam career mode, and for some team principals to change teams over the seasons in Driver career

Ability for cars to unlap themselves under safety car or red flag

Overhauled AI strategy logic

Career mode settings option for pre-existing teams to change names/branding (e.g. Jaguar or Lamborghini), or for new teams to emerge as 11th or even 12th teams on the grid (e.g. Audi, Porsche, Andretti, etc.)

Ability to start your own team in a driver career mode (essentially turning it into a MyTeam career mode part way through)

Thanks everyone.
