Hi F1 community, As we’ve already seen, EA and Codemasters have already begun work on the new season’s car models and liveries, with the recently added Alfa Romeo C43 added into patch 1.18. Because we are seeing this happening for the very first time, and it appears the developers are already looking towards F1 23, there’s a possibility that F1 23 could be released a bit earlier in the year, which is something we’ve always wanted. What do you think? And would you like to see an earlier release date in the future for the F1 franchise?Thanks as always. 😊

Last year, F1 22 was announced revealed in late April. This year, F1 23 has been teased at the beginning of March, with the general consensus being that we expect a reveal very soon. This is almost two months earlier than last year. Hence, there’s a chance we could be getting an earlier release this year, as their usual checkpoints on the way to releasing the game are all coming early.Edit:How does this reply already have so much XP?

I would like F1 23 to be released when it's ready. Many would argue that F1 22 was released too early given the bug situation at launch so I certainly wouldn't be pushing for F1 23 to arrive early.That's not to say that in principle I wouldn't like the launch of each new game to coincide with the start of each new F1 season. Of course I would!

@Radoko34 March/April wont happen IMO.. They only learn the liveries and chassis in Februaray + will only learn race by race the characteristics of the cars like downforce, drag, engine power etc. and even though the characteristics are not represented properly in the latest games sadly ☹️So i think they will take longer than March 100% and probably even longer than April for training the AI to the new cars and characteristics..

I agree with you, an early release would be so great, I don't know the margins devs may have to publish a game 'ready' sooner, but in july means almost half a season gone so that my own league is always 'out of sync', in fact next year I'll do a reasoning whether to start with the GP of the moment (SIlverstone or whatever will be) and reach Bahrain and the others only at the end of the real championship...

Yeah I totally see where you’re coming from. 👍
It sort of means that when the F1 game is released, we have half a year or so before we’re already thinking about the new season, new game. Not to mention, as you rightly said, it offsets leagues with the real life calendar, which many people find frustrating.

Maybe what you say could be a great way to do things. EA/CM cut their losses, and decide not to skip a year, and just add in the new liveries/tracks with updates, etc. And then when the next season rolls around, with all the extra time they’ve had, they’re super well prepared with a very bug-free, full of new features amazing game!
I would genuinely be very happy for them to do that.
However, F1 23 is all but confirmed, so it’ll never happen this year.
But in the future… who knows?

Something to talk about, maybe?

Hm, good points. I would also like to kick off the 2023 season with the official game available at the season Start and Performance and livery patches afterwards.
For the Bugs, I hope that they will switch to a general F1 game and just give us yearly dlcs for the seasons and use other development methods to avoid two teams working in separate Codes. Maybe that could be done, when they switch the game engine.
Keep the core, improve it, and just Update the cars and tracks via yearly dlc.

@Radoko34 I hope not, otherwise it's all gonna go to the worst, just like F1 2021 did with the three missing tracks. If anything, I think the best that EA can do is to keep their hands from F1, and let Codemasters do their job instead.

@Radoko34 I think the trailer gonna come in mid of March or start of April... Have C43 Alfa Romeo in 22 helps a lot of marketing for the F1 23... I really hope the game gonna launch in May... I am anxious to play in Losail on my Xbox One with the MLC60 Papaya...

Don’t forget that there’s a reason why the game is launched when it is..
and that is Silverstone weekend. Why is it important? Silverstone is birthplace of F1. Home to British motor racing etc etc
Most likely is Codemasters campus is right next door to Silverstone. So it’s logistically easier for Codemasters when comes to the big launch.. That’s why Silverstone is covered with the games advertising boards
