Things I feel can improve the game
I've really enjoyed the game so far. The racing itself is the best fun I've had in any racing game and so far I feel it's a step forward from the last few games.
That being said theres still some things if like to see added that could turn this from a great game to an amazing game for he career modes.
1. Driver stat editor. Doesnt need much explaining.
2. This kind of works as a 3 in 1. An option to manually alter the driver lineups between seasons. Firstly, this will allow us to correct some of the wild unrealistic moves. Second, we could use it as a way to decide when a driver retires rather than it being random. And thirdly, it can give us the ability to put icon drivers in the official teams. I like seeing Hulk added but I'd like to see him get hired by teams like Aston or Alpine or whatever occasionally. So even if this is only possible by us manually changing lineups this would be a big improvement.
3. I'd like to be able to actually play as the icons, use their avatars and helmets etc. However I'd like to extend that.
At the start of career mode you get asked to create your driver. Perhaps there can be a second option here where you can either create your driver as we do now, or select any driver to play as. Obviously if you pick one of the 20 current drivers then you'll drive for their current team for season 1. But playing as them you can move team in season 2. So you could play as Alonso at Ferrari. Alternatively, if you pick an icon driver or F2 driver then it works the same where you then pick your team and teammate. Only difference is you're playing as a real driver for career.
4. For My Team. Rather than being a "driver owner" you're just the owner and instead have to hire two drivers and then you pick which of those drivers to play as at the start of the season. So unlike driver career, you could potentially play as 10 different drivers. But as the name suggests, you obviously are just driving for your team rather than switching around like in driver career.
5. More save slots. Three is a painfully small amount. Three for Driver Career and another three for My team like in 2020 would be much better, or having ten like we did from 2017-2019.
In terms of things like car and driver performance, they dont seem too bad in practice compared to the stat on paper. That being said, some need some changes. For teams, Mercedes need a small nerf so they're closer to Alfa. However, their upgrades should give slightly bigger boosts so they catch up faster. Small buffs to McLaren, Aston and Williams so their closer to the other teams ahead, however i do think their positioning of 8th-10th is correct. Their updates, McLaren in particular should just bring them closer a bit quicker.
As for drivers, I think a lot are fine but some small changes are necessary. From Merc, Red Bull and Ferrari, I think only Lewis needs a small pace buff so hes at the same level as Max at least. Some drivers that should have some smaller buffs would be Albon, Ocon and Magnussen increasing to 84 pace, Gasly to 86 pace but a small nerf to racecraft whereas Tsunoda should have a racecraft buff. Some bigger changes though would be Alonso increasing to 93 racecraft, 85 awareness and 91 pace. Vettel up to 88 or 89 pace and Ricciardo up to 86 pace. Zhou also needs a big buff with up to 86 racecraft, 80 awareness and around 78 pace. Hulkenberg should also have around 84 pace at least.
Then an obvious buff to some of the more notable F2 drivers so they're at a similar level to Mick at the very least. Taking only this seasons form is the reasoning for a lot of lower stats compared to their past form but they should be using the Focus stat for that. Give Vettel and Ricciardo the higher stats we know they are capable of but give them lower starting focus so it takes time to get them to that level. After all that though, my first of a stat editor would fix that.
