How do you know that your contact list opponent is using the competitive gameplay options. I am not 100% sure but I don't know if this is fixed to on for these type of friendly games?
On Online Seasons for example everyone has to use competitive game settings with limited adjusting for certain scenarios.
Might he worth double checking there settings are matching you. Not using Legacy Defending for example. That will ruin your experience.
These have been checked, but even if this is the case, why does it behave that way only when the other player invites, this only affects the away team irrespective of the settings.. Please EA should look into this.. it's so frustrating and I don't see the reason to continue playing the game with this abnormality.
There is definitely a home advantage. I’ve been in a fifa league with guys who live in Sweden, Finland, the UK, Dubai etc. We’ve been playing fifa against each other since 2020 starting on PS4 and although the ping was high depending on who you played the games were much more playable. Ever since we transitioned to PS5 starting with Fifa 23 things have went downhill. When you’re home the game is fast and your players are able to dribble, but when you’re away the game is sluggish, the passing, shooting, and dribbling are delayed. It has gotten so bad that many players in our league can not tolerate and are reduced to playing seasons are FUT since they are playing people around them. Even when you play locally there is a home advantage. Hopefully FC 25 won’t be like this but its like they refuse to acknowledge it. Terrible.
My record on seasons is 430 or so with 30 losses. I’m still good at the game, but there is definitely issues with home and away.
Since the transition to the PS5 Hypermotion engine, online friendlies have essentially become unplayable. The fact that EA hasn't addressed this issue is incredibly frustrating. Before Hypermotion, playing against someone from distant countries would result in lag, but at least it was fair because both players experienced the same connection quality.
After the introduction of Hypermotion, only the away team experiences lag, while the home team enjoys a stable connection. This makes online matches unplayable, as the home team always has the advantage. I used to participate in many international online tournaments, but now I can't compete in anything due to this problem with Hypermotion.
EA’s failure to fix such a significant issue for years is extremely disappointing.
