This Game Is Hugely Better After The Latest Patch 👍
I AM PASTING THE BELOW FROM A REPLY I MADE IN ANOTHER TOPIC - I THOUGHT IT SHOULD BE HIGHLIGHTED.
I know forums are used mainly for complaints and that's fine and normal. But sometimes if something has improved (if only a small amount) then the developers need to be told.
Which leads me on to saying the game is much better after the latest patch - Not perfect but better and a step in the right footballing direction.
What I would also like to point out is that I have played every FIFA from the Sega Megdrive until now. ISS Pro then later PES until PES 2008. I also played PES from 2016 until it became eFootball. I then tried that an meh. Football Manager from well, way back when it was Championship Manager.
I am one who plays a football game to play football and not play it as a "video game" strategy, tactics and all that is how I play. Every move I make is based on what I believe is football and not typical video game tactics. Footballing strategy should always win above everything else. (And just no. UT is not football) UT is pure arcade and its quite sickening to watch on Twitch etc... I mean, watching someone with a made up team spamming the same trivela shot all game long and getting rewarded for it is pure garbage. And dont get me started on unrealistic skill chain moves that are pure stupid. I would never entertain that mode. The huge majority of people who play that mode are playing an Arcade video game. And, if you are trying to play football on UT then I suggest you leave that mode and pick a real stock team and play Seasons.

I don't think a lot of this talk is helping EA as its too scattered.
I think you need to mention what game mode you play first off. I only play Seasons mode online and that is all I buy this game for.
I played this game for about 4 hours last night in Cup Mode. So I'm playing people scattered over a few divisions.
What I noticed was even against other Div 1 players is that there was more available options in midfield to pass into. Now, I didn't hang onto long in the middle UNLESS there was an opening to move into. The opponents defenders and midfielders were less aggressive. And what I mean by that is they weren't bum rushing you off the ball at any cost. You could control the ball into feet and move. That is huge because before the update that was rare. And that was definitely not right. The patch has improved that massively.
As for attackers. I don't know what tactics you use (hopefully not one of those awful streamers so called meta formations) I have my own style and own footballing philosophy. Doesn't always win games but I know how I like to play. Defending comes first above all else. But attacking needs variety. I play so many 1 dimensional people who only try wing play OR who try and dance into my box. The hardest games I have is against players like myself who try all sorts of attacks to score.
You do need to trigger runs and call players short to create chances at times. But there should be a huge emphasis on the HUMAN PLAYER to do work to create chances.
This game is hugely better after this update. I'm not sticking up for EA and nor am I paid by them. Again this game is so much better from a footballing perspective after this update. Not perfect but they have gone the right direction.
Game speed is so much better after the patch. Some of this is down to the AI being less aggressive and sprinting around bailing people out. It makes for a better footballing experience. It changes the game night and day.
The other thing is that some people just sprint everywhere. The game should not reward holding sprint from the moment they receive the ball (and after the patch this is better) Pace should only be useful once a player has a clear path in front and not just sprinting round the side of you. (Late in a game sure if your players are tired I get it - but all game long. No). And as long as a slower defender is positioned right a speedster should struggle to get past them. That again is better after the update.
Again, all from my current experience. The game is massively better after the patch. And as usual for many who were playing a certain pre patch way because streamers told them to are now caught with their pants down. And rightly so. Anyone who thinks football should ALWAYS come out on top.
