Hi - I've been having issues with gameplay for several months and it seems to be getting worse over time. I play EA FC 24 on Xbox Series X, connected via ethernet directly to modem. My EA connection score is 93/100.I've noticed that when ONLY playing EA FC 24, I have a noticeable input delay or lag that greatly impacts my ability to play online. This issue doesn't happen on other games. I've made a video attempting to demonstrate the input lag/delay that I'm experiencing in game. The best way to show this was to move around in the game in EA FC using the D pad, and then doing the same in the Xbox Menu and in another game (Warzone). The video is linked below and I've attached screenshots of my EA connection score and recent match history.In the video, I am pressing Left five times on the D-pad and then Right five times on the D-pad. You can clearly see a delay and even some input misses on EA FC 24. The input is smooth in the Xbox menu and Warzone. In a match, the issue translates to slow turns, late passes, late tackles, etc. The issue used to be sporadic but lately it has been every game, every day. @NobbyS7 Try turning on the online input overlay on in game. One controller on screen in connected to your local input the other controller on screen is connected to the server. Then when you move the stick or push a button if they are in sync on screen you have little to no delay. If say you push a button and on the second controller it takes 6 seconds to light up then you have a lot of delay.

@RadioShaqs My issue isn't a 6 second delay but instead a delay significant enough that impacts gameplay. Not sure if it's less than a second or not but it's enough to severely impact gameplay. The video is meant to show the delay and "missed" inputs in EA FC in comparison with the same buttons being pressed in the Xbox menu and Warzone. It's also something that doesn't always happen, but has been worse and much more consistent lately. Right now I've had this issue for at least a week consistently every game, every day.

@NobbyS7 It does t have to be 0 or 6 seconds. The input overlay gives you a visual representation of the delay. That’s why they added the settings. That way you don’t have to try to line it up with another game.Hit a button and count the seconds it takes to come up that’s how little or how much delay you are experiencing.

@RadioShaqs I do have an input overlay on in my video I originally linked. Is that what you meant? I used gamepadviewer with OBS.Using some video software, I found it was about a 250-300 millisecond input delay in game. I took a screen recording/clip of my original video (linked below). @NobbyS7 I am not familiar with another program I just use the one in game. If that shows delay then you wouldn’t need to look at another game. You have delay.

@NobbyS7 Not always because they are different servers and different games. Where is the cod server located vs the fc? Unless there is a high rate of users reporting an issue or ea posts server issues it’s likely on your end.

@RadioShaqs I don't think the information in that thread really clarifies anything. I just see other people complaining or not understanding what to do.
But I guess what you are trying to say is that the issue is probably on my end, and most likely with my connection even though I don't have connection problems with any other game. In that case, how do I determine what EA FC server I'm connecting to?

@NobbyS7 That’s what I am saying is you don’t know what servers you are running on when comparing it to another game or another test.

You would think you are connecting to the nearest server but that’s not always the case. Your isp might route you to a server farther away.

From the help page.

EAS FC will always try to connect you to online matches on your best game data center. Although that’s often the nearest one, this isn't always the case.

Internet service providers (ISP) generally don’t send data from Point A to Point B directly. They route this data across locations, sometimes across the globe. This can be a physical networking infrastructure limitation of some ISPs or part of their business model. These decisions are ultimately handled by ISPs based on their unique needs and situations.

In some cases, your connection to a game data center is the best connection available at the moment, even if it’s further away. Your connection can be routed elsewhere if there are internet issues impacting the route that your network traffic would normally take, or if one of our game data centers is experiencing technical problems.

@RadioShaqs Is there a way for me to determine what EA FC server I'm connecting to? I live in the Dallas area in North America, so I should be very close to a server.

@NobbyS7 Hard to say. They did a pitch notes explaining how a large portion of Mexico City connects to Dallas despite being in Mexico City. They published that to explain how isp routing doesn’t make sense.

I get green ping most of the time so assume I connect to my closest server. During off hours and low population modes like friendlies I sometimes get a yellow ping so assume I get a server farther away. When I get a yellow ping I always back out that way I never get delay.

Talked to ISP (AT&T), they said everything looks fine and probably a game or Xbox issue. Talked to Xbox, they said it's probably a connection issue. They suggested I try with a different internet source.
Trying to connect with phone hotspot, but apparently Xbox now has an issue where I can only connect with ethernet. Will try if/when resolved.

Do you know if this is a good address for a traceroute if I'm in the US? Want to have some data if I can get a tech to come out.
