Cross platform bug preventing XBOX and Playstation players from playing

This has been going on several days now.  I am on an Xbox X, my friend is on a playstation 5. . We are no longer to play using the Play a friend mode.  No matter who starts the lobby, as soon as both of us join it will swap control of my team to his, so I never get to choose a team or start a game.  Its only happening on my end on the Xbox X.  On the other side the playstation is just waiting for me to start a game, and he also doesnt see that I can change the teams that he is controlling.  I have seen at least 30 other people say they are having this exact problem.  What is being done about this ?  We basically have an unplayable game.
