You can't discard players selected for an active Evolution.
You can discard your player once you have completed the Evolution or that evolution has expired.
If the evolution has already expired, but still you can't discard the card, please share with us the following details:

same problem here, my card appears as a duplicate but it's not. The Evo is still active and it's not completed but I can't send the card to my club (to complete it) or discard it (to open packs).
Platform: PS5

I know that the Evo is still active but I have no option to complete it and it expires in 15 days!
I think you should do something so that at least I can open packs
