I can not play Rivals!!!Connection has been lost with the opponent

The Rivals is not working it says  "Connection has been lost with the opponent". Every time I click the skip button it will come up this. How can I fix the problem? I can't even play rivals in this game. I have tried resetting the router and closing the cross-play selection, but did not work for me.
