Problems with the controller

Everytime I play I have this problem, most of the plays I try to defend the game stops anwsering to my controller for a few seconds, I dont know what triggers this but it makes it very hard to play the game, first I stop being able to change the defender I am controlling no matter how many times I press the botton asigned to it and then the defender stops reacting to the controller and just starts running forward, I have tried out different controllers, cables to conect them and nothing have fixed it.
