My drivers are up to date, so I tried to do a fresh install of the latest GPU drivers.

Hey,
I have fresh installed the latest gpu driver and in the meantime it works fine without crashes.
So I think that is the fix to the issue.
Just perform a clean install to you gpu drivers.
