Re: EA Sports FC 24 shutting down Xbox Series X

Does exactly the same for me! Done it about 10x already!! Even turns of xbox completley or just closes the game down. Still freezes mid game too which is just as annoying!! Ridiculous its still happening after having similar issues last year!!

  • @Levencio This started happening to me in fifa 23, only on fifa and only in the middle of a game. Nothing I’ve tried has fixed this and I’ve not seen a mention of it from ea themselves, ruins the game
  • Right guys I found solution to the problem. Had same issue last year and this year. So whether you like it or not your console is overheating. I understand you play different games and all working fine and this applies to me as well. All I did was ordered fan from amazon which Is attached on the top of the console and its not expensive. Fc24 runs perfectly with extra cooling fan, game not shutting down. This is easy fix and it's cheap so you finally will enjoy the game like I do. You're welcome.

  • @велосипедек23 Give me link on this item on amazon plz.
  • Just type in xbox series x cooling fan in Google.  There is a lot to choose from. Mine cost me like 20 pounds.

  • Yes it does. I wasn't convinced at first but 20 pounds we'll invested so I can play fc24 without problems

  • Doesnt resolve mine turning off. I already have cooling fan and it does not fix the issue.

so Its not a over heating issue.

I dont even get 5 mins into a game before it turns off.
So if people wanna try it thats fine but its not a fix

  • So I’ve been dealing with the same issue as everyone else here, EA FC 24 is the only game I’ve seen this issue happen with except FIFA 23. No other games at all.

however I have recently tried the same trick that I did in FIFA 23 which is to cancel your connection to the EA servers when logging into the game upon startup where it says “Gamertag is connecting to the EA Servers…”

cancelling this process and only connecting to the server when I booted into UT or Clubs in this case seems to have helped the stability hugely for me.

to put it into perspective - I could not complete more than one game (if I was lucky) previously but after this change I have played 6/7 games so far and it’s running good.

Give it a try and see if this helps anyone dealing with this issue

Nope not a cooling issue it’s a conflict in the code, games bugged to hell loads wrong with it and they justify asking near £100 for this. Joke man joke

@connorjg1825 My feeling is it’s something going wrong when the connection is established to the server on boot of the game, the fact this issue is still happening though and no one at EA has even come out and addressed it or looked into it is very frustrating
  • I am having the same issue. If you at least want to play a quick game just cancel the connection to the EA servers when it pops up when you open the game. So is really the servers that are pretty bad. Cause i didn’t connect and i played offline and it was ok. Once i connected and tried again my console turned off.

Well i have tried it and it's working for me. Before I wasn't able to finish one full match now I'm playing 90 minutes. So far game closed once where before it would all the time. Maybe your cooling fan is poor or you have different issues with your console. Switch your console on play fc24 ut match when it's cold will get you at least 45 min after that you console will get hot check it yourself. Maybe it's not solution for everyone but will work for a lot of people. There isn't a different solution so far.

  • well thats good for you. obviously you have a cooling issue.
I know a number of people i play with that havent any issues dont need cooling fans etc and are still playing

Do I need a cooling fan on mine No its well ventilated and doesnt get anywhere near a temp that would cause issues but I chose to put one on the same way I chose extra fans on my pc.

Basically from your comment your saying xbox should never have released there system as it cant handle the games that are built for it
as for buying cheap equipment that is what You are suggesting to do to fix the problem,

also if running fc24 when ive just turned xbox on i still get 5 mins into the game if im lucky so the temperature my console is makes zero difference.

There is no solution at all so far

Maybe you understand this solution works for me and might work for a lot of people out there not necessarily for you and that's alright cause its not all about you kid. We should not have this problems at all I agree. Guys give it a go worst case you waste 20 pounds that's all I can assure it works well for me. Good luck.

  • I bought one today and have just played 15 matches when before couldnt get through 2 games, so a top fan def the way to go in my opinion.

I think those buying cooling fans are missing the issue, it may be a temporary fix but its not the solution for what the actual problem is at hand.

We have the same problem on the PS5, is it an overheating problem? Maybe but whats causing this?

    Why are both consoles overheating?

Bad optimisation with the game code!

On the PS5 you can hear the fan speeding up to its max before presenting the overheating error message, this is mostly happening whilst just on the menu's in the game, whether its the Main Menu, Half Time Menu, Post Match Menu, Kit selection Menu, Searching for opponents menu....

Why does the game get so stressed when just viewing a menu??? This is the problem we have here, poor optimisation. Why does the processor get so heated and need the fan to speed up to its maximum when just viewing menu's?

It doesn't do this during what you'd think would be the most hardware intensive situations like playing an actual match or viewing cutscenes so why the menu's?

This is what EA needs to address!

See the PS5 post and solution attempts, it all points to the same outcome: Poor optimisation of the game code.

  • OK ok we all agreed ages ago that game is broken. Nobody from EA is responding on here cause they don't care they have your money and that's it. So we all have 4 options.

    1. Hoping this will get fixed by EA.

    2. Play game and get kicked out every match.

    3. Don't play the game.

    4. Try this cooling fan cause it sorted the issue for me.

Nobody posted a solution so far but everyone saying game is broken etc. WE ALL KNOW ITS BROKEN!!!!!

As I understand extra cooling fan is not sorting the issue for everyone but why would not try at least.
