Re: Unable to save Personal Settings 1.

Thanks everyone for your reports. I'll highlight some of the steps shared in this thread to ensure that everyone can easily see what to try.

Hi I have a fix for the personal settings problem.go to your documents open ea folder and delete contents but leave the empty folder then launch and you can make new settings file in game if this helps anyone else then tip your waitresses am here all week lol.

Kierankille:

I was able to fix the problem "Unable to save Personal Settings 1". after opening FC 24, but before it gets to the settings screen, renaming my Fifa 23 folder (inside the PC's documents folder if you played Fifa 23 on PC) to "FC 24".

This then showed me that Personal Settings 1 were corrupted, after which I followed the instructions to delete the folder and it let me make new personal settings.

This works, and you don't even need to have played Fifa 23.

It seems like the game doesn't have write permission to your Documents to create the FC 24 folder, so if you manually create that, it will have access to it and be able to save.

Great find Kieran

tl;dr -

Create "FC 24" folder in your Documents, start game, save your settings. GO GO GO! :D

@ItsGavlar wrote: I was getting the same thing and managed to fix it, find EA FC 24 in your documents through program files right click on the game file and properties > security then allow your user full control and that worked for me. Hope it helps other people !

  • Additionally, you may try checking or unchecking the Read-only attribute for the documents folder in its Properties on your PC and then restart the game.

  • If you are using a PC, make sure you are playing on an Administrator account.
  • For the consoles, kindly log out from any other profiles currently signed in on your console and then reboot.

The one that worked for me (finally), was removing the FC 24 folder in Documents that the game had installed and replacing it with an empty folder named FC 24, then deleting as prompted.

    Thanks for your help.

I'm happy to give credit where it is due. And on the bright side the same fix worked on our other computer which runs Windows 10.

That doesn't change how disappointed I am with EA.

It's been such a frustrating experience for my 11 year old son who paid for the Ultimate Edition so he could play it early then was unable to enjoy it for weeks that I was initially simply relieved to have finally found a solution.

    Now I'm really cranky.

It is very annoying that EA, with all their resources, didn't acknowledge the problem or provide what turns out to be a pretty simple fix.

I spent hours poring over numerous threads and trying numerous solutions.

I shouldn't have to. I'm slightly computer literate, but I'm sure there are thousands who aren't who still can't pla. Hopefully they are slagging off EA to everyone who will listen.

Lord knows how much time the chaps who saved the day spent.

If EA had a shred of decency they'd give all those who did their job for them a lifetime EA Play sub and more.

  • unable to save personal settings 1. Im having this problem on xbox please help

  • How do you do this on console. I’m on Xbox Series S and have this problem.
