Since FIFA 23, the same issue persists. I play on the PS5, and it's incredibly frustrating. I'm sure most of you play seasons with your favorite teams and want to compete against teams at a similar level. I play with my 3-star team, and once in about 10 draws (or even less often), I get matched with teams of a similar level. I constantly encounter teams where I practically have no chance, even if the opponents lack skill because they can just run forward, make crosses, or long-range shots, and my players from these 4 and 5-star teams hardly stand a chance.
In previous versions, it took longer to find an opponent. I play with Lech (Polish League), and I often face teams from the Turkish or Arab leagues, which have a huge advantage because they have several stars in their squad. I often get matched with teams like Man City, Chelsea, Juve, or PSG. I have strict matchmaking settings, but it doesn't help. Of course, I have to wait for the cutscene to reveal my opponent, as skipping it and entering the match will often result in the opponent not agreeing to leave the game when they see they've been paired with a weaker team.
It's genuinely frustrating how they've messed up this mode. I had hoped that in FIFA 24, it would be fixed, but EA completely ignored the issue.
My morning was two games - Barcelona and France... I did manage to beat France 2-1, but that's beside the point!!
Today, we're going for a record. 30 attempts to find an opponent for my 3-star team, and mostly, I get matched with 4.5 and 5-star teams. Occasionally, luck is on my side, and I get a "four-star" matchup. What's going on? Of course, I have strict matchmaking settings.
Ok, today update #6 (six, SIX, S I X!!!!) came out and quess what? Still not fixed. You mods, tell us the truth. Are you having a good laugh at us with the devs? Because this is looking like to be on purpose, just for fun watching us rage and wanting to play the game the way we want for paying 90 euros and be unable to just because you dont care... Another month, anothër update, another false hopes.
Shame on those who left us to this disgraceful company. They stole two months of our time and are still determined not to solve the problem. This is what happens when you give these clowns a monopoly in the market.
