Xbox controller on PC keeps scrolling the menus

i am using Xbox Series X Wireless Controller (model no: 1914) on my Windows 11 Pro Hp Gaming laptop. i launch FC24 and skip the intros and see the game menu. after clicking down one time with the left stick, the menu keeps scrolling downwards until the end of the menu. when i click up one time using the left stick, it goes all the way up. it goes on like this and i can't use the menus or do anything.

it is amazing how you guys always fail on this front since i had similar issues with fifa23 and had to buy an external xbox adaper to fix that solution. as a mutli-billion dollar company, please allocate some resources to this problem and fix it. i see hundreds of other users who paid for your game are having the same problem but they never get a proper solution.
