The list of a names that dutch youth academy players can generate with has shrunk down to what amounts to maybe 5 or 6 surnames, every younh dutch player that the game generates is either De Vries, Kuipers, De Jong or Van Dijk, what happened to all the names that featured in fifa's past? Every young dutch player with a "Van" surname is a Van Dijk now? That's silly, in the Past we had way more names and they've all just gone away

It’s the same with the Greek name pool. Samaras, Pappa, Kaya, Demetriou, Harris?, and every once in a while you get a Papadopoulos. That’s it. No other name options. A couple of them aren’t even popular Greek names. I unfortunately don’t have the numbers but I recall the Greek name pool had significantly more variety pre-FIFA 23. I really haven’t been able to find a good reason why it would be intentionally shrunk. I find it incredibly frustrating and really takes the immersion out of the youth academy feature as there’s only a handful of countries that still have a fair-sized name pool.

@EA_Pulsar @EA_rephii @EA_Darko @EA_Mako Could you please find a solution to this problem? It's ruined the immersion of the game mode. I've attached one more example.

@ThisNameIsSilly no need to apologise, we voice our concerns in a friendly manner and they still ignore us, this name pool debacle has been an issue since 23.

@ThisNameIsSilly haven't checked it yet, but the bug was present on other countries on FIFA 23 too, wasn't resolved with the hope that with the new release will not have this problem.
If what you say is true, it means more countries are broken and nothiing is fixed in this year release...

Yeah, it ruined the dutch for me last year as well, In FIFA's past I would always scout until I could find a dutch striker with a surname that had the "Van" prefix, the next Van Basten, Van Nistlerooy, Van Persie et cetera, and in years past there were a ton of Van "X" names in the name pool, now it's just Van Djik, that's it. I'm just gonna keep replying to this thread and my other one re:youth academy player heights by position until it either gets responded to or I get banned or something, what else can we do?
It'a frustrating because I know these are problems that modders have easily fixed on the PC versions, so I don't understand why they still exist in the official release, the mods can't fix these bugs on my Series X.

I've just tested this again now that the game is out of early access and released world wide, this bug is still occuring, please look into this EA

@BogdanCDC they won't fix it unfortunately, I've messaged them personally and I've been completely ignored, the name pool was fine up until last year such a shame.

@ThisNameIsSilly yeah I know how you feel, the name pool on FIFA 23 & EA FC 24 is so bad that I've gone back to FIFA 21 career mode, every Dutch player is called "Peters" or "De Vries", Swedish players are called "Ahmed" and every Eastern European country only has about 5 names it's so bad; don't get me started on how bad the name pool is in Africa.

So many stupid things that break every iteration, why can’t they just refresh their broken code and start making actual fixes for the causes of the inevitable bugs that appear.

@sleepwalker20088 What's most frustrating is that I know modders on the PC version have fixed this issue for PC players, so EA really can't say this is some super unfixable problem

It's been a real problem since Fifa 23, the names for the youth academy players (but also for the regen) are wrong for several countries, especially the African countries who only have first names as surnames (Marocco, Algeria etc ...) and eastern european countries like Ukraine who share 3 surnames (only 2 on the 23) what a shame.

At this point I'm not sure this is a BUG I think it's actually a feature.
Would love the option to edit the youth players names if this was a deliberate decision to shrink the name pool for all countries
