Connecting to Ultimate Team is not possible at the moment.

When I try to connect to Ultimate Team in EAFC24, I get the error message "Connecting to Ultimate Team is not possible at the moment. You will be returned to the Main Menu." I have engaged with multiple help chats with EA Help about this issue and been told several things, including: 

1. This is a known issue and our team is working as quickly as possible to resolve it. (This answer was given in October, November, December 2023 and January 2024 on four separate chats.) When I check all of the forums, message boards, Twitter feed, etc., I see no resolution to this. Removing Ada Hegerberg is not possible because I can't even access Ultimate Team to remove her from the squad.

2. This is an unknown issue and so they will report the issue as a new issue to the resolution team. (This answer was given in December 2023 and the new issue never showed up in the forums where I was instructed to look for updates.)

In both of these cases, the cases were closed without resolution - "No Fix." 

Then I had a chat last week (early January 2024) and we tested the account to see if that was the issue, but it wasn't so the support staff said I needed to request my ISP unblock additional ports. I contacted my ISP and they needed more specific information about the ports. I contacted EA Help again and they gave me the port information, but when I contacted my ISP again, they said that all of those ports that EAFC24 uses are already open and unblocked. They directed me back to EA Help. 

I contacted EA Help again today and was told the original response noted as #1 above. They gave me a link to another forum which is this platform. This crap storm of support has been a three-ring circus. Please, please, please help me contact someone who actually knows what they are doing and who can resolve the freaking issue. This is absolutely absurd. 

I'm starting a new thread here because the other one about this same error message got sidetracked into the Ada Hegerberg issue, was marked as solved, and then never answered the original question. Please answer the original question. How do I resolve this specific error message? Platform is Xbox Series X.

  • Happening to me too but I reinstalled the game and just spam to reconnect and now I’m connected. Also restarted my AT&T router multiple times

  • Is your NAT type open or does it say UPnP unsuccessful? 

    I had this issue too, I looked into it, and I finally fixed it. I tried hooking up my series X to my PC via Ethernet and turned on my VPN on the PC, and it worked, so I figured it was some type of port forwarding issue because my UPnP was not open/successful according to my Xbox.

    I have AT&T internet and I went into my:

    1. Gateway settings URL (which should be located on your router (ex:https://192.xx.xx.xx)) 

    2. Went to the firewall tab then selected NAT/Gaming, put the code/password in that should also be on your router

    3. Under application hosting entry, Service: Xbox Series X, Needed by device: Your Xbox console/console name

    4. I am not sure if this is necessary, but I added IPv6 Tunnel (6 in 4) (which you will find under services under "Application hosting entry" same place as step 3) and selected my Xbox as the "needed by device"

    5. Just restart your Xbox, check your NAT type, and if it's open, then you should be good to go.

    I thought NAT type was the issue so I called AT&T and they fixed that. My Xbox is on NAT Type Open and I no longer hav the UPnP unsuccessful message. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it did not work even with the Open NAT type

    Everyone, I just submitted an email/ticket to EA regarding this issue. I will post my exact words below and if you have the time you should submit the same email/ticket. I think if enough of us submit the same ticket then we might just catch their attention. If you need help submitting an email/ticket message me on Twitter (X) and I can help. (@fut_drizzy). Here is my exact message to EA:

     

     

    Subject: Connecting to Ultimate Team is not possible at the moment. You will now be returned to Main Menu.

     

    Several users who have AT&T Fiber Internet are getting this same issue: "Connecting to Ultimate Team is not possible at the moment. You will now be returned to the main menu."

    We are able to access every other game mode like seasons, pro clubs etc. This is solely an Ultimate Team issue. We are also unable to access the web app when connected to our Wifi. But when we are on cellular data we can use the web app. Same goes for console, if we are wired to our gateway we are not able to access Ultimate Team. If we are connected to our phone's hotspot, then we can access Ultimate Team. 

     

    This seems to be an issue with Ultimate Team servers allowing in players who use AT&T Fiber as their internet. As you can see in the forum, there are many of us experiencing this issue. Please address the issue and update me as soon as possible. Thank you.
