The war of the 94 Prinzes

I had a 92 rated Birgit Prinz 

I used a 100k coin evolution to make her a 94 rated Birgit Prinz.

I then unpacked a Golazo Icon 94 rated Birgit Prinz and did wonder whether it would let me take her or if she would be a duplicate. It's a different version but the same player with the same overall raiting.

I was able to take her and used her in my squad.

But I've just today noticed that the other version of her has disappeared. So I've lost a 92 rated player, 100k coins and the time and investment in getting her up to that rating.

I see people talk about compensation on here, how does that work? Surely I can't just have lost out on my highest rated player?
