The worst gameplay so far this year
The gameplay i've been experiencing today is without doubt the worst it's been all year, and that's saying something. There was a known server problem that was slowing everything down on Tuesday evening and it CLEARLY hasn't been fixed. Even the menus are still slow and jumpy.
EA will try to blame your connection as usual but it's nothing to do with your connection. I play on a consistent, wired, 500mbs fibre connection and I never have internet problems. My upload and download speeds never drop and my ping is always between 15-22 (I won't even join a game if it's higher than that), I never have any issues playing any other online games.
This whole game is based around speed and timing, and at the moment it's physically impossible to time anything because of how sluggish and delayed the servers are. Players are running like they've got concrete boots, can't turn, you'll time a tackle or a header perfectly and your player will just stop and stand still, passes and shots are so delayed that they end up going nowhere near where you aim, people are bundling through your defence because the delay makes all your defenders miss their tackle, goalkeepers aren't diving when a shot is straight at them, the picture is stuttering every few minutes so essentially whoever wins is down to whoevers AI reacts the fastest and does it for them.
It's an utter mess and it needs addressing urgently. You've opened up the game as free to play but your servers quite clearly can't handle the influx of players. If it's this bad during the daytime on a Thursday, how bad is it going to be during the weekend league?! It's frankly embarrassing that a company that makes so much money, and has such a massive player base, can't invest in servers that work properly
