There isn't a single development plan preset that allows you to train Free-Kicks, on previous editions of Career Mode this wasn't the case; please fix this bug we should be able to train free-kicks.
The only way the Free-Kick stat gets boosted is via the "Balanced" option, it shouldn't be like this.

A big friend group of mine have been playing solo since the late 90'ies, and then joined and played together since the early 00'ies. None of us have been wanting to play the game in its current state.

This has been an issue since FC25 and EA just ignorned it as usual, we will just have to wait for the Mods to come out and fix the issue because EA won't because it DOES NOT MAKE THEM ANY MONEY to sort the problem.

October 2025 and we still cannot train Freekicks, Penalties & Curve on players
I'd stay well clear until at least after Christmas, if at all this year - the career mode is broken. Not sure if you've seen the threads regarding contracts - I've lost a third of my squad through this bug, into my third season (around the time players look for renewals). As soon as a player asks for a new contract, it puts them on the transfer list. Then, you negotiate a new contract. The game then doesn't recognise this has been done, and the players are still nagging for a new contract. The game doesn't allow you to address, as you've "recently negotiated a new contract". Eventually, bids come in and you have no autonomy over them, as the "Assistant manager" is now handling the matter.
It's more than broken. It's an aberration.
It's genuinely embarrassing.
