Anyone Else Sick of Attackers Decelerating?

I don’t understand it. Did EA program attackers to suddenly decelerate (like they’re shuffling through sand) right when you’re on the attack, or is it something I’m doing wrong. I’m finally competing at higher levels in Rivals and Champions and this glitch/feature is absolutely killing me! And it doesn’t seem to occur for my opponents, so it’s really left me wondering what’s going on. My players aren’t fatigued when this is happening either (I know what that looks/feels like). I’ve posted about this before and never seen a reply from EA, but it has got to be about the most infuriating aspect of this game (after lag/latency, of course). Would really welcome somebody explaining it to me because it’s killing my fun.

  • If it’s not happening to your opponents it’s something on your end. You can try a new controller. You can also test your delay in game and on here. Turn on the online input overlay and look at the two controllers on screen. Make sure they are registering your buttons first. Then count the delay between the left one your local and the right one the server.

I was looking for a link where ea explains how to test it and troubleshoot your connection. I forgot you was also dcing. So this would likely be your connection. You should take ea up on their offer of trying to help you.

  • Honestly, it's not just attackers but also defenders. I'll take a guess and say that they are running perfectly fine one minute, but 5 seconds later they feel like they are in running in thick mud? I had this recently with LB Al Owairan, running back perfectly fine, but the second I'm within 5 yards of the opposing player complete slow down so I can't get to them. You aren't going crazy it's definitely something in the game.

They will try to make out like it's something on your end, your controller, or your internet etcetera. I've heard it all before. In reality though everyone experiences it, it's something in their game or servers, and they will never tell you why or how it happens. Sometimes I doubt they even know based on how bad gameplay is in general. Sorry that it doesn't help though.

Shaq ..... absolute rubbish , is not on his end at all , it's ea's programming that your players are expected to be at certain points on the pitch and if there ahead of were they should be the game slows the game and players down to compensate, it's all just broken code, it's been discussed many times online by content creators.

Telling him to buy a new controller is ludicrous and a complete waste of his money and time, it's another example of a broken game that's all.

Happens to me on a brand new controller with perfect internet, it's 100% a programming issue.

  • Do you dc often too?  Only way to know is if he does the tests. Most people have a new controller or working one without buying a new one. But that was my suggestion before I found out he dcs often and edited my post to reflect it. It’s likely not a controller issue.

Appreciate the reply. While it’s reassuring to learn I’m not crazy, I’m sorry others are having to deal with this.

Anyone besides me find it strange that EA won’t acknowledge this issue? It seems so fundamental to gameplay and, based on what others have said, it doesn’t seem like it can be anything but the code. (I have no doubt that my controller is functioning fine because it works perfectly in every other game I play).

Your right I have the same problem it's bull**bleep**.  It's nothing to do with the controller or input lag.  It's like somone is purposely doing it.  I played a game the other day and the score was 9-7 ridiculous.  Defenders running faster than strickers its total horse **bleep**

  • Hey, to anyone else who agrees with this post (that attackers randomly decelerating into a “shuffle”—especially on a breakaway), be sure to lodge your discontent with EA in the survey that’s out now.
