Games counting as loss after completion

I've now had 3 games (2 Champions, one FUT Draft) where I ended the game with more points than the other player and just as the game ends it says cannot connect to EA servers and that the connection has been lost, then it records the game as a loss and subtracts the game from my account.

Either the cheaters have found an exploit and are abusing it, or EA has a serious server problem in which you are not refunding players for YOUR mistake on being able to run a server. Which in my opinion could be liable to a class action for anyone spending FUT Points on a Draft or anything like that, and being incorrectly discounted from the rewards they deserve.
