I can't be the only one thats been scammed out of promotion because of people backing out when losing right?

Unfortunately some people like bourbons and some like custard creams but we can’t have it both ways.
No you aren't, I'm not sure what it is but I've seen people mention players that dashboard. Essentially, I think they quit the game in a way that EA never intended mid game, thus invalidating the result for you. Admittedly, even if the game crashes for me I receive a loss, so I'm not sure if it affects their dnf or not. But realistically if the other team leaves for any reason you should get the win. Whatever it is, it's a bug that ea haven't managed to solve in the last 6 years at least.
Its ridiculous that they keep releasing the game with this same issue. As you said, the match score should make no difference if someone backs out, you get the win. Its a simple formula surely?
That's why I think it's an issue they can't figure out. I'm not really sure if it has a solution to be honest, but it doesn't always happen to me when people have clearly gone back to home and quit. There is definitely something else in what they are doing but I really don't know.
