Cant use L1 Dribbling anymore

Everytime i try to perform a speed boost anywhere ok the pitch, my game starts stuttering at a point where i cannot do anything and just have my player walk till he loses the ball then my game comes back to normal, which also happens when my opponents does them. In a gameplay where speed boosts are almost mandatory I am in a huge disadvantage, EA I am asking for your help.
