Yes, having the exact same issue for the past 5 days. EA just doesn't care about Clubs since it doesn't make them money. Can't seem to find a work around.

Found a possible solution:

open settings, go to edit teams, and download the latest rosters
go to kick off game mode, wait for it to load the menu, then your rosters should be up to date
go to clubs and test it out

That's what worked for us, too bad EA doesn't have any support for this buggy game...
