High GPU Usage in Menu – How to Reduce It
In the PC version of the game, when I’m in the menu, the GPU load reaches 100%. However, as seen in the graph in the attached screenshot, during any Ultimate Team mode, the load varies between 85-90%...
I have a 4K monitor connected via DisplayPort. In my Windows settings, the refresh rate shows 143.98 Hz. I have also enabled Adaptive Sync in the monitor settings.
My game settings are:
- Resolution: 2560×1440
- Refresh rate: 144 Hz
- Frame rate limit: 90 FPS
- V-Sync: Off
- Rendering quality: Medium
With these settings, the FPS counter shows 67-68 FPS in the menu and 90 FPS during gameplay. This means my GPU handles the fast-paced action well during the football match but struggles a bit with the mostly static menu.
The issue was fixed by enabling Half Frame Rate in the Cutscene Quality setting in the game menu. This reduces the frame rate in the menu, lowering FPS from 90 to 45 and cutting GPU load in half.
