Online Tournaments

My PlayStation username is ImmortalKingMSI. I was doing the online tournament and maded to the semifinals. On my screen it said Waiting for opponent and them after like 10 minutes it said I lost the game when I didn’t even play a match. This was so unfair to me! Can anyone explain why this issue occurred to me?
