PS5 Controller not connecting on PC

So today, I came back from school and I wanted to play some rivals. I could use the controller in the menus, but in-game, it showed an orange triangle above the player, and I couldn't move. Then a screen showed up and said something like "You are inactive, connect a controller." and I didn't know what to do so I was sitting there, looking at my screen angry of how **bleep** this game has become. EA, a billion-dollar company, cannot fix this?
