Re: Online Service disabled - PS4 - EA FC 25

Soooo...

I bought FC25 for my son and it has worked fine on PS5. He then wanted to play against a friend that has PS4 so I DLed the PS4 version on the PS5 and then I got the same problem as the rest of you. I even downloaded it on PS4 Pro and tested it there, aaaaaand got the same problem. Conclusion is simple!: The problem is somewhere in the sphere surrounding PS4 and EA's age restrictions and limitations. It shouldn’t be so hard to figure out for the EA team. Actually, I am sure they probably already know what the problem is, but the question is WHY will they not give an official response to the problem here? Is it because they are afraid what the consequences will be if they reply something we don’t want to hear, before a certain date? Let us have some fun and conspire and see what EA’s trickery team might have up their sleeves!

I direct you all to the following page to read EA’s official returns and cancellations policy:

https://help.ea.com/en/help/account/returns-and-cancellations/

And if you won’t be bothered to read it all I will post the part which is most dire, for this game, in their return clause for new games:

Refunding a new game

If you buy a new EA game within 30 days of its release date and can’t play it due to issues outside of your control, you can request a refund within 72 hours after you launch the game for the first time.

These issues include:

  • server issues
  • bugs
  • other technical issues on our side.

Players in some jurisdictions who have made purchases may have additional rights to remedies, including refunds, where the game is faulty. For more information, read our article on EA’s warranty policies.”

30 days of its release….FC 25 was released on 27 September, today is 22 October, that would make the 30th day on October 26th.

Tick tock everybody. Tick tock….

Disclaimer: Under no circumstance do my opinions and conspiratory outcries reflect the opinions of the general public or for that matter any people related to that public’s friends or relatives. I proclaim that I will take full legal action against my own self if it turns out I am out of my mind and cannot see the narrative of the man, his men or those others who resemble him. If he turns out to be a woman, I am F…ed and will crawl back into dormancy and claim a full refund of myself. I hope I get more than 30 days! Aaaaah yes! I live in Norway, thank the stars! Sc..w you guys, I’m on my own!

    Eaxctly the same problem here.

Logging into my son's (13) EA account, to update the Basic Information details for changing DoB "Need to change your date of birth, contact EA Help".  After spending 1.5 hours on a chat with what I thought was a very helpful person who asked me what DoB I wanted it changed to, confirmed that I wanted to change the DoB etc and then asked for a scan of my son's ID - I explained there was no details on his passport apart from his genuine DoB which wouldn't match what I wanted to change it to - asked this 3 times, sent a scan of his passport (removed his pic) and then was told sorry we can't change his DoB as it won't match what was on his ID!!!!!!  #HEADEXPLODES....."Anything else I can help you with today?"  Er let me think.....

    I give up!

So, I bought the game for my 12yr old son last night. Got it home, installed it, updated it, logged in and, boom.... It didn't allow access to the EA servers. Spent ages messing around giving elevated privileges on the playstation for him. Couldn't work out what was going on.

Searching the internet I found this thread and slept on it overnight. I set him up with an 'older', separate account this morning and he is happily playing it, but he wants to play it with his existing account.

Got onto Playstation and EA support this afternoon. Playstation eventually 'hung up' the chat as we were going round in circles. EA was a little more productive, but ultimately got nowhere.

They said that he needs to be 13 or older to access the EA online servers. There is nowhere online or on the box that states this. He couldn't direct me to anywhere on their website, or any other website, with this information. I also pointed out that this thread provided evidence that it worked on a PS5 but not a PS4 for the same account. He said that things are different cross-platform. My response was that there is either an age-cap, or there wasn't, regardless of platform.

I also pointed out that the kids currently play Plants vs Zombies online, which is part of the EA catalogue. That was ignored. I think I eventually got the guy to escalate to their development team, although he could have just said that to get rid of me. I also copied and pasted a link to this thread in the conversation so they can find it easily.

He did say that the development team read these threads so someone might pick up on it by chance. He did say it was a playstation issue. I think regardless of whose issue it is the onus is on EA to work with Sony to find a resolution. It seems that these companies like to take our cash but are nowhere to be seen.

I am seriously annoyed with this. I won't be getting any more EA games until this is resolved. Anyone know the e-mail for the chief executive?

  • I have just been told that the issue was supposedly fixed on 5th November. I was told to uninstall and then reinstall and it would then work. Unfortunately it still doesn’t work. Has anyone she had any success getting it to work on PS4?

Just installed v1.07 on PS4 released in the last few days and still doesn’t appear fixed.  This is absolutely farcical from EA and Sony.
