Skill points not assigning

In player career mode when I assign my skill points it initially works then I go in game and my player can’t do any of the things I’ve applied, he’s slow can’t do skill moves, weak foot is bad and then anything else I then finish the game and it says in the top right my player is 64ovr but all my skill points are still on the right stuff and my stats should be higher.
