Unable to play online with friends on FC25

I am on PC and trying to play ultimate team friendlies with my friend, he is in my friend list. But him and i are unable to appear online on the EA app for some reason and the whole social section on the app is just blank for the both of us, I never opted to go offline at all ever since i downloaded the game. The same for him. I am able to invite him to my party and he is also able to successfully join, but then if i send an invite it says unable to send. Please help me out.
