Gameplay the worst ever.

At least now EA must know what's causing it.

Just look at how many posts about how sluggish the gameplay is, it's a joke that they keep blaming everyone's connections

NornIron11I have found a solution to the gameplay issues i have been suffering since Fifa 13 or so and hopefully it can help you. I always had that delayed sluggish gameplay where my players wouldn’t accelerate and the ai wanted to run away from the ball.

i literally tested everything, wired, wifi, 3g mobile data and everything had the same delay. No matter what server i was was on Uk/ireland/france/german/dutch it was still terrible and one sided. Some days the gamepkay was quicker but i always felt disadvantaged. I even had a thread shut down last week whilst trying to figure out what was causing it as people were arguing with radioshaq. However, with the bad gameplay i started to think that it must be something to do with my connection even though i didn’t know what it was as it was happening every game and always to me and not my opponent.

This led me to doing lots of research on framerates and display options etc for tv’s and monitors. I had some success with a monitor at 240fps but not enough. I worked out that what the nvidia setup on the pc was wasn’t the best as it was scaling up framerates. It was putting me on a display that the monitor wasn’t supposed to be at. To cut a long story short, i eventually went back to my tv, turned off gamemode which allowed it to go from 60pfs to 120fps, set the display on both pc and through nvidia and in the EAFC settings  to 1920 by1080 ( i believe this was the crucial part) set the framerates to 120fps and switched it to windows borderless. Now my gameplay is as it should be. Players are more responsive, the ai is better and the game is more enjoyable.

I know you aren’t on pc, but i assume you can still get it set up on either ps or xbox. Check all your tv settings and make sure they are at the native settings and the EAFC settings match this. I actually couldn’t get the gameplay as good on my monitor as it now is on the tv, but test with game mode off and on until you get the good gameplay. It will have absolutely nothing to do with your connection or the EA servers. Radioshaq is actually spot on with this. Hopefully you can get your gameplay issues sorted after all this time, because if i have you certainly can. 100% it will be something to do with your tv/monitor and the display settings.

  • I wouldn’t say it’s not his connection ea explained that in his last thread.  I am glad he got an answer from ea in his thread though. He had been asking for awhile. It’s helpful when they explain it. Could it be his setup too it’s possible.

That last thread I made was marked solved because someone at EA told me to turn off my router and turn it on again which of course didn't fix anything.

But look at the last comment I made on it, I was getting a few days of great gameplay " Right before the latest update , How did I know the update was going to knock the gameplay out of sync again and why does the gameplay always get good a few days before an update.

I knew because the same thing happens during every update. And that's how I know I can't fix anything only EA can.

  • He gave you solutions for your connection and explained it further in his second post.

Also here is ea saying it’s not a server issue and very few report it.

That’s why I try to get everyone to post their tests and videos with the input overlay on. Very few ever post the video and more times than not like the last thread more came back and said they don’t have delay.

Could it be a server issue since this ea post I suppose but nobody ever wants to post their results so it looks like ea is right in saying few have the issue.   Good on ea for explaining this stuff though we need more of that. It lets everyone know what’s going on.

Also it looks like the other user solved his delay that posted in this thread. So even if you don’t believe ea others have fixed their delay.  When the sa sever and more recently the pack glitch the forum gets overtaken with reports. So much so you can’t even discuss the game. So it looks like ea is right.

  • Of course, the problem is with the players' connection, because the game is completely flawless, right? When errors happen in the game or things that don’t make sense and have nothing to do with football, it’s definitely the connection that’s playing a big role in that. We can't blame the game or the developers because they are so busy creating a perfect game that they don't have time to worry about bugs and issues. https://youtu.be/JTigsOMk0EA?si=yaErE3b9US5-F-Hk

  • I mean some things are on eas end The question should be why would CPFC007 be able to fix his delay if it was on eas end?

I thought for years it was connection based and spent all my time trying to fix this even though my connection was pretty much perfect. Everyone’s issues will be slightly different but all my gameplay issues (which sound similar to the issues others suffer) were caused by display settings. Yes the game isn’t perfect but i have responsive gameplay for the first time since i can remember and ive been playing since fut10.

My issues were due to the upscaling of images to a higher resolution. It was only after i researched this that i understood what might be happening. I would therefore recommend making sure these display settings are set to the native settings of the tv/ monitors. It fixed my gameplay after all these years. AsRadioShaqs says, if you have an issue it probably is on your end. I was blinded for too long thinking it was EA’s fault and the servers but i was wrong and it was down to my setup.

I play on a TV, bought a monitor and sent it back. Xbox series X. The thing is if it was a display setting how could I possibly get good matches.

Remember I can tell what online will be like by playing squad battles first because the delay starts the minute I log onto EA servers

When the gameplay is good that whole session will be until have I have to reconnect to the EA server.  I've already told others and it's helped them " Say you're playing at 9pm and the gameplay is awful and you're still playing at 11pm if you log off and reconnect there's a 50/50 chance of better gameplay, if you don't log off its got no chance of getting better. So the only change is the how the game connects to the EA server at the start.

I had the same issues. Gameplay would be better at certain times but even when it was quicker i was still disadvantaged in terms of speed. Everyone will have slightly different issues. Connecting to different servers does make a difference as the speed will change but my gameplay is night and day even when it feels heavy. If i get my winger past the fullback i can now cut inside and get a shot away whereas i would always be tackled before.
Once i had tried fixing all the logical possibilities of bad gameplay i moved on yo the unlikely. If you start with the assumption it is something at your end you will have a better chance of fixing it. I know the tv settings seem unlikely but play around with them and you might be surprised. As i have said if i can fix my issues others can as well. The game is nowhere near perfect but it’s much better when you don’t feel that every game is against you

New update, let's see how many more complaints there is today, already seeing a few on Reddit.

Also just like to add one thing I'd like to see fixed as it happens all the time, say I make a bad pass or clearance but it's full power bar, How does it stick to the opponents if they're 2 or 3 yards away.  For anyone that's never played football before get a friend make them stand 2 yards from you and blast the ball at them just to see what happens.

Seems to be as long as the opponent isn't controlling the player the ball will stick to them. Squad battles is awful for it.
