Authentic mode - Inaccurate Volleys

The default authentic mode has a MAJOR impact on volleys. I know the shot error is higher which makes for a more authentic experience, but the affect on volleys is insane. My players often don't hit the target (even on a half volley) and have sometimes even shot from inside the box and ended up kicking it 90degrees up to go out for a THROW IN (lol!). I have tried both assisted and semi shooting, same result.
